30 Years of Hell

Related to the post earlier this week about the need for able criminal defense lawyers, the NY Times today has a stomach-churning story about gross abuse of police powers by the federal government.

  • The FBI knew these men were innocent, let two of them die in prison, and left the other two there for 30 years? That's monstrous!

    I can't believe that the standard is only 1 million for every year served if you are wrongfully convicted. It doesn't seem to me like you can put a price on a year of someone's life, let alone thirty.
